OUR COSTS

What we don’t spend money on

If you’ve compared us against a coaching test series, the gap probably made you suspicious. That’s a fair reaction. Something cheap usually has something missing from it.

So here’s what’s missing, and what isn’t.

There are no buildings

A coaching institute pays rent in several cities, keeps classrooms lit, staffs a front desk and runs an office. That cost sits inside everything it sells, including the online-only test series. The students who never set foot in the building are still paying for it.

We don’t have an office at all. The whole team works from home and always has, so there’s no rent, no fit-out, no electricity bill for a floor nobody is sitting on. The platform is the entire product.

There’s no advertising budget

We don’t bid on search terms. We don’t pay affiliates a cut per sale. We don’t run banner ads or interstitials inside your test window while the clock is running, which is the arrangement that makes “free” mock sites free.

Everything so far has grown organically. People find the site, sit a free paper, and tell someone else. That’s slower than buying traffic and it’s the reason you may not have heard of us.

We may run ads at some point. If we do, they’ll be paid for out of profit rather than built into what students are charged, and they certainly won’t appear inside the test window.

Nobody is paid to phone you

No telecallers. No counsellor working on a per-enrolment target. If you’ve ever handed your number to a coaching website, you know what the following fortnight looks like.

That operation is expensive to run, and it’s paid for out of what students spend.

One platform carries every exam

The test engine, the timer, the question palette, pause-and-resume, the section and time analysis, all of it was built once. Adding an exam means producing its papers and configuring its pattern, not building a second product.

A coaching series is sold one exam at a time, so the whole cost of making it has to come back from the candidates sitting that one exam, in that one season. Ours doesn’t. The SSC aspirants and the NCLEX candidates and the people doing AWS certifications are all paying towards the same engine.

None of this makes it free to run

Working from home removes rent. It doesn’t remove cost.

There are salaries going out every month. There’s a stack of software subscriptions the platform is built on and runs on, billed whether or not anyone sits a paper that day. Servers, domains and the site itself all have to be kept up, and a platform that falls over during someone’s mock is worse than no platform.

So we can’t give all of it away, and we’re not going to pretend the alternative was on the table.

Why the first three papers are free anyway

Because nothing we write on this page settles the question. You can read our account of the test window, the analysis and the question quality, or you can sit a paper and see for yourself in ninety minutes.

Three full-length mocks in every live exam, no card, no trial that quietly converts. If the window doesn’t feel like the real one, you’ve lost an evening and nothing else.

It also means the students who genuinely can’t pay still get something usable, which matters to us more than squeezing the last conversion out of the free tier.

What you give up

Worth being straight about, because this is the part the price actually reflects.

There are no live classes, no doubt-clearing sessions and no mentor to message at eleven at night. If that’s what you need, a coaching programme is the right thing to buy and we aren’t a substitute for it.

Nothing is printed or posted to you.

Most of the exams in our catalogue are still in build. If yours is one of them, the honest answer is to wait, or go elsewhere for now.

And the explanations on the hardest sets are thinner than we’d like. One of our reviewers said so publicly and she was right. We’re working through those sets exam by exam.
