How to use the predictor
- Work out your marks with the official answer key: +4 for each correct answer, -1 for each wrong one, 0 for unattempted.
- Enter your total out of 720 and your category.
- Read the estimated All-India Rank range, the 2024 qualifying mark for that category, and the likely-options band.
How NEET ranks are decided
NEET UG is a single paper, so there is no shift normalisation. NTA ranks every candidate by total marks and converts that position into a percentile. When two candidates have the same marks, NTA breaks the tie using subject marks and the number of wrong answers, in the order set out in that year's information bulletin.
Why the same marks give a different rank each year
Rank depends on how everyone else scored. An easier paper pushes many candidates into the same score band, so the same marks produce a lower (worse) rank. A harder paper does the opposite. That is why the tool shows a range.
From rank to college
Your All India Rank decides the 15% All India Quota seats through MCC counselling. State quota seats use a state merit list built from the same NEET score. Check both, because a rank that misses AIQ cut-offs can still win a state seat. Category in this tool does not change the All-India Rank; it changes the qualifying mark and widens the "likely options" band for reserved categories.
FAQs
How accurate is a NEET rank predictor?
It is a close estimate after the answer key, but the final rank depends on the full score distribution, which only NTA has.
Does category change my All India Rank?
No. Your All India Rank is the same for everyone. Category ranks are listed separately on the scorecard and are used for reserved seats.
When is the official rank released?
With the NEET UG result, usually a few weeks after the final answer key.
Can I use my mock test score here?
Yes, if the mock is at NEET difficulty. Use it to set a target, then close the gap subject by subject.
