About Future Topper

Future Topper is an online mock test platform built on one idea: practise the exam before the exam. Every paper runs on the official duration, section order and marking scheme, so exam day feels like one more mock.

Who we are

A small, independent team. No investors, no parent company, no coaching institute behind us.

Kautilya U, co-founder and CEO. Four years in edtech before this, which is long enough to have watched what students actually do with a test series rather than what the brochure says they’ll do. He runs the exam roadmap and decides what gets built next.

Ayush D, co-founder and CTO. A BITS Pilani graduate with close to a decade of building software. The test engine, the timer, the palette, pause-and-resume and the analysis dashboard are his. If a paper doesn’t fall over halfway through your mock, that’s the reason.

Mannu D, strategic advisor. Currently doing a PhD, with a strong background in finance. He keeps us honest on whether the numbers behind the platform actually work, which is what lets us hold the price where it is instead of quietly raising it next year.

We’ve never had an office. Everyone works from home and always has, which keeps the running cost down and is part of why the price is what it is.

Why we built it

Most aspirants practise on one of two kinds of platform.

Free sites are paid for with ads that sit on screen while the clock runs, which is the opposite of exam conditions. Coaching-backed test series are good, and they cost thousands of rupees for a single exam, which puts them out of reach for plenty of the people sitting that exam.

We wanted a test window that behaves like the real one, with no ads, at a price any student can pay without thinking about it.

What you get

• Full-length mocks and sectional papers on the official pattern. In most cases 10 full-length mocks and 10 sectional papers per section, with the first three full mocks free where those papers are open. Every paper has section timers, a question palette, mark-for-review and an on-screen calculator where the exam allows one.
• More than one way to sit a paper. Learning mode shows the solution as soon as you answer, so a mistake gets corrected in the same minute you make it. Normal mode reveals nothing until you submit, clock and nerves included. Some papers carry additional modes, and you pick on the start screen before the timer begins.
• Analysis after every paper. Section accuracy, time spent on each question and worked solutions.
• Free tools including percentile calculators, rank predictors and an age eligibility checker.

How our papers are made

Papers come from two places. Our in-house team writes most of them, and for subjects that need a specialist we bring in freelance writers who know that exam properly. A GATE Mechanical paper and an NCLEX paper shouldn’t be written by the same person, and we’d rather pay someone who sits inside the subject than pretend otherwise.

Every paper passes through us before it goes live. We check it against the notification and verify the answer keys, and anything that doesn’t match gets sent back.

Every paper is written to the latest official notification for its exam. The same number of questions, the same section split, the same timing, the same marking scheme.

Papers are graded from moderate up to exam level, so you can build towards the hardest rather than starting there. When an exam body changes its pattern, we rewrite the papers before the next cycle. Anyone can report an error through the Feedback page and we fix it in the paper itself.

How new exams are added

We cover entrance, recruitment and certification exams from India and elsewhere, and the list keeps growing.

An exam opens for practice only once its papers are written to the current notification. Every exam page says plainly whether its papers are live or still in build, and you can ask to be told when one you need goes live. We’d rather show you an honest “in build” than a thin set of papers dressed up as a series.

What we will not do

We don’t show ads during tests.

We don’t sell your data.

We don’t publish predicted ranks built on our own user base, because a prediction drawn from the people who happen to use us isn’t a prediction of anything.

We don’t auto-renew. What you buy runs for a year and then stops.

Our companion site

Study material lives on futuretopper.in. The two sites run independently, so accounts, purchases and progress don’t carry across. Testing needs a full-screen, timed, distraction-free window. Study material needs to be browsed and searched. Keeping them apart means neither gets compromised for the other.
